Good Christian Podcasts You Should Listen to Right Now

We have a lot of noise in our lives. Most of us are constantly listening to shows, music, and yes even podcasts. What you are putting into your mind will ultimately transform you. Is the media you’re consuming going to conform you to the image of Christ or the image of this world? This post will give you some good Christian podcasts to subscribe to and to your playlist. They are full of goodness, truth, and beauty.

S2E15 – What You Need to Know about the Christian Creeds A More Beautiful Life Collective Podcast

In this episode, we are talking about the high-church confessional documents and why you should engage with them. No matter what denomination you belong to, these confessional texts – like Christian creeds, confessions of faith, catechisms, and liturgies – have been incredibly influential in the history of the Church. We need to wrestle with what they say and determine how it fits in with our own personal statement of faith. Today, we are going to talk about why you should read these texts, and then, turn our focus to the Christian creeds in particular.  Read more on the blog: https://amorebeautifullifecollective.com/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-christian-creeds/  Get a PDF copy of the Christian Creeds here: https://a-more-beautiful-life-collective.kit.com/d080819cc1  Get the Doctrine and Theology Cheat Sheet Here: https://a-more-beautiful-life-collective.ck.page/bd897d28d0  Get a list of the names of God here:  https://a-more-beautiful-life-collective.ck.page/43d2d5cf6b  Get a copy of our personal statement of faith creation guide here:  https://amorebeautifullifecollective.com/product/we-believe-your-personal-statement-of-faith-workbook-pdf-download/  Get “Building Our Foundations: 10 Week Study” here:  https://amorebeautifullifecollective.com/product/building-our-foundations-11-week-systematic-theology-book-bible-study/  Visit our Shop to get a copy of any of the resources mentioned in this episode:  I’m your host, Cayce Fletcher, and you can learn a little bit more about me here.  While you’re here, would you consider leaving a comment, rating, or review? What are Good Christian Podcasts?

With the advent of modern smartphones and Bluetooth headphones, it’s never been easier to stay connected to your phone. Talk Radio is now really a thing of the past, and what has replaced it?

Podcasts!

Podcasts are audio blogs, interviews, and stories that can you download and listen to anywhere. There are over 5 million podcasts out there with about 70 million episodes between all of them. There are about 450 million podcast listeners!  It is a growing market! Google recently merged YouTube and Google Podcasts, so Podcast videos are becoming more and more popular.

What are they about?

If there is a topic you are interested in, you can find a podcast on it – from homesteading to sports to politics to crafting. Lots of entertainers, speakers, and authors have also created podcasts that give details about their opinions and daily life. The most popular podcasts are true crime stories and news (and Joe Rogan).

Where can you find them?

Generally, podcasts range from about 20 minutes to an hour. Some podcasts are bite-sized short episodes, and some can range from 1-2 hours. Dan Carlan’s Hardcore History is audiobook length with some of his episodes clocking around 5 hours!

Where can you find them?

Most people have a favorite app that they listen to podcasts on, generally based on the type of phone they have.

Here are some podcast apps that you can listen to:

  • Apple Podcasts
  • Spotify
  • YouTube
  • Amazon Music
  • iHeartRadio
  • Castbox
  • RadioPublic
  • PocketCast

Benefits of listening to Good Christian Podcasts: Redeem your listening time

I love the portability of good Christian podcasts and the depth that they provide on topics. Most podcasts are long enough that you get the gist of an author or speaker’s heart, but they are short enough that you can learn about a lot of topics. I can’t tell you how many books, ideas, tips, and tricks I’ve learned from listening to good Christian podcasts over the years.

We become what we are constantly putting into ourselves. The music, news, and conversations we put ourselves through will ultimately change our hearts and minds to match. What do I want to look like? What do I want to sound like?

If I want to have an outpouring of love, encouragement, and biblical truth, then I should be constantly pouring in love, encouragement, and biblical truth.

Good Christian Podcasts are one way that I do that. While I am cleaning, cooking, and walking, I can put on a podcast and be edified, equipped, and encouraged. The daily habit of doing this is making me into someone who more reflects Christ.

Most of us are drowning in noise. I don’t need to tell you to turn on something to listen to because you already are. But, the question is: What are you listening to? For most of us, we often are listening to the most popular thing or the loudest thing. Take a hard look at the content.

One question that is helpful for me is to ask myself: Would this be something that I would be happy if I let my kids listen to? Would it be something that has a message that I want my kids to believe?

Redeem your listening time to let it be something that makes you more like Christ.

I became an avid podcast listener when I was in college and drove the three-hour round trip to and from home on the weekends. I enjoy true crime and news podcasts, but I have been spiritually shaped and refined by the good Christian podcasts that I’ve listened to.

Listening to good Christian podcasts is such a great way to learn information and be strengthened, encouraged, and convicted.

Tips for listening to podcasts:

When you listen to podcasts, be sure to:

  • Subscribe to the good Christian podcasts that you want to listen to so that you never miss an episode.
  • Create podcast playlists so that you have all your favorites in one place. I have a playlist that has all my Christian and Homemaking podcasts in the same place so I don’t have to search for the next episode. It just automatically plays.
  • Please (please, please) share, rate, and review what you are listening to. You may think that people are just repeating this statement on the podcasts you listen to, but ratings and reviews change the way that the podcasts are recommended to others. And, it changes others’ perceptions of the shows. If you are enjoying it, take a minute and share that with others. Remember, podcasters (and most other content creators) are doing their work (that you are consuming) for free. The best way to support them in their work is to share it with others. So, if you’ve been a long-time podcast listener, but you’ve never rated a show, take a minute now to rate wherever you listen!
  • Here are my favorite headphones from Amazon that I keep charged up to use while I’m working around the house.
