Creating a life you love. Cultivating a heart for God.
Our mornings decide how our days will go. They set the course for our mood, our decisions, and the way we steward our time and lives. Let’s use our morning times well by filling them with what is good, true, and beautiful. This month, our AMBL Collective Morning Time Menu is focusing on CONTEMPLATION! We…
Our Morning Times should turn our focus onto what is good, true, and beautiful. But, our world is often filled with chaos and noise. Do you sometimes find your mind wandering as you open your Bible to study scripture each morning? What about when you are spending time in prayer? Christian Contemplation is an excellent way to cultivate this focus. This morning time menu will take you on a 30-day journey of practicing Christian Contemplation.
Christian contemplation is an ancient practice. For over 2,000 years, disciples of Christ have practiced ways to calm their minds and turn their ‘inner gaze’ – their mental focus – towards God. In this Morning Time Menu, you will be reading about some of these ancient practices while learning how to add them to your life as habits. If you’ve ever struggled with your focus during your quiet time, this morning menu is for you!
Throughout the 30 days in this morning menu, you will be reading from several books, along with studying scripture, music, paintings, and a section of the Psalms. Our key book is Domestic Monastry by Ronald Rohlheiser. Throughout the month, we will also be studying the Psalms of Ascent, St. Teresa of Avila, and the Canterbury Tales.
Join our Facebook group to talk about what you are learning throughout the month. Let’s build good habits as we create a life we love and cultivate our hearts for God!
Our morning times set the tone for the day. When we are harried with those first few moments, our homes, relationships, and lives are chaotic for the rest of the day. But, when we choose calm, rest, purposeful action, and intention, we are choosing that for the rest of our lives as well.
How do we choose this?
By devoting those first few minutes to quiet contemplation and worship. We devote those moments to God in the quiet, and we reap the rewards.
This Morning Time Menu will help you do that. Morning Time is a term borrowed from the homeschool world, but you don’t have to be school-aged to reap the minutes. Choosing to start your day with spiritual disciplines, worship, and beautiful art and literature creates a fountain of truth, goodness, and beauty that will pour into the rest of your lives.
Our Morning Time Menus are created to be a framework for your devotional practice, with new monthly topics every 30 days. The Menu includes:
In addition to spiritual disciplines, the menu also includes Scholé studies, a time to read, listen, and view beautiful works of art. This is part of redeeming your education while learning the best that Western Civilization has to offer.

Each morning menu comes with two versions. The first prints the full 8×11 letter size pages (with larger font). The second (listed as PRINT version) formats the menu as a booklet which will fit nicely in most size Bibles. If printing using the PRINT version, be sure to print pages 5-8 double-sided with short-edge binding.
